A pregnant woman was injured in Wilmington on Tuesday night when a police car crashed into a vehicle she was riding in while the officers were following another driver wanted in a murder case, officials said. The collision took place about 6 p.m. at North Island Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The woman was taken to the hospital in stable condition after being checked out by obstetric paramedics at the scene, police said. The officers were not injured, the LAPD said. The person they were following was taken into custody by other officers.
